General Fielding = Robert 'Beau' Feilding, who married Barbara, Duchess of Cleveland, and who is here rebuking Sir Charles Duncomb (? Luttrell's annotation expands C.D. to Charles Duncomb but continues "or rathe[r] Sr Thomas Skipwith") for writing impertinent letters both to her and himself.
