First few lines of text: "The case of Lanark, his Majesty's advocate against the Reverend Mr Robert Dick, adjudged upon the 2d of March 1753, has been appealed to by both parties; it will therefore not be improper to state it at some length from the minutes of debate and the decreet".
This 'Abstract' was laid before the Lords of Council and Session in Edinburgh as evidence in the dispute between James Macwilliam and Dorothea Lady Forbes in 1762.
