Together with the copy of a letter from King Charles the Second, to the then Lord Mayor of London; (within two months after his Restoration) recommending it to his care for raising subscriptions, for fitting out bussers for the herring-fishing; and a copy of the patent to the late King James (when Duke of York) and several other persons of very great quality, constituting them the Council of fishery of Great-Britain and Ireland; whereof his Majesty King Charles did vouchsafe to be, and be called protector.
