Apart from the preliminaries to volume 2, pagination and register are continuous.
In this edition the two volumes are divided by a divisional titlepage to vol. 2. There are two states of the divisional titlepage (beginning with 'Old plays.') to vol. 2. This divisional titlepage (variant) originally had the third play listed as 'M. William Shake-speare, his true chronicle history ...' and did not have at foot "Vol. II"; the other has this divisional titlepage cancelled and the cancel titlepage has the third play as 'The true chronicle history of King Leir, ...' and at foot is "Vol. II".
The cancel divisional titlepage has horizontal chain lines.
