Originally issued in ten numbers, a collection of plates engraved by Charles and Isaac Taylor and William Sharp from drawings by Thomas Stothard and Robert Smirke to illustrate 10 plays of Shakespeare.
Each is individually dated, and accompanied by a leaf bearing a letterpress extract from the play, four numbered plates to each play, all dated between 1783 and 1787.
