Vol. 1 is a translation of 'L'Esploratore turco ..' by G. P. Marana originally published in Paris in 1684; subsequent volumes have been variously attributed, but were probably edited by Robert Midgley from William Bradshaw's translation of the original Italian MS.
The title is transcribed from the general titlepage in vol. 1 of the 25th, usually found with the 13th ed. of vols. 2-8. The imprint date to vols. 2-6 is enclosed in square brackets. Vols. 7 and 8 were published in 1754 and do not include the name of the printer in the imprint.
