The cumulation divided into six parts, each with individual title; parts 1-4 published in two vols. each, part 5 in four vols., and part 6 is a single volume. A final volume was added to the series. Volumes and parts are individually dated, with dates differing from the general title page. The dates range from 1755 (the general title page to Part I), to 1759 (the first volume of each subsequent part), to 1763 (the second vols. of parts 1-2) and 1764 (the second vol. of parts 3-4). The first two vols. of part 5 are dated 1759, the last two, 1764. Part 6 and the final volume are dated 1764.
Annual volumes have re-arranged the contents of monthly numbers into topical parts. Part 6, "Miscellaneous correspondence," includes monthly summaries of current events, lists of books published, poetry and music, tables of economic information, births, marriages, and deaths, and shipping news, retained in 12 separate sequences. Other sections are cumulated from original monthly articles and essays.
