II. Of the origin of all the idolatries of the antient pagans; wherein the mysteries of the pagan divinity are fully unfolded, and explain'd so far as they relate to the erroneous worship, which for so many ages obtain'd among the people of God. The whole intersperst with a curious variety of critical inquiries, and what is most observable in Buxtorf, Selden, Aynsworth, Dr. Lightfoot, &c. on this head; being of great use towards the reconciling some differences in chronology, as well as illustrating many difficult passages in the sacred history.
