The Chearful companion: or Songster's pocket-book. [electronic resource] : Containing the most approved songs, odes, cantatas, &c. in the English language. Including love, pastoral, hunting, seafaring, jovial, and several favourite old songs; select airs from operas, comedies, and musical entertainments; all the favorite songs, which are sung in the several lodges of free masons, albions, antigallicans, bucks, choice spirits, and the principal societies within the cities and liberties of London and Westminster. A large collection of celebrated toasts, sentiments, &c. With a list of the regular lodges under the authority of the grand master of England; also their days of forming in each month. To which are added, concise instructions for singing in company. A new edition, with considerable additions: particularly, the songs sung at the public gardens last summer. For the more ready finding any song in this collection, thy are regularly classed; and, as there are several that are entirely new, and others that are out of print, they have the music for the voice neatly engraved, and bound up in their proper places. Those songs that are sung to common tunes, have their references.
