A catalogue of the most valuable collection of pictures, prints, and drawings late of Charles Jarvis Esq; deceased [electronic resource] : principal painter to their Majesties King George I. and II. Which will begin to be sold by auction, (by order of the executrix and trustees) on Tuesday, the 11th day of March 1739-40 at his late dwelling-house, in Cleveland-Court, St. James's. Likewise his marble statues, basto's basso relievo's, alto relievo's in ivory, most exquisitely done by Fiamingo; his Albans enamel ware, in vases, ewers, cisterns, dishes, plates, &c. painted by Raphael and his disciples: with his models and plaisters of the most eminent sculptors and gravers, both ancient and modern, chiefly collection by him, in a series of forty years, in Rome, Lombardy, Venice, France, and Flanders, and from the cabinets of many of the English nobility. With sundry other valuable remains of antiquity. The pictures, statues, busto's, and models to be view'd on Tuesday the 4th of March; the prints and drawings on Friday the 7th, and each day, (Sundays excepted) to the time of sale, which will begin at half an hour after eleven precisely. Catalogues will be deliver'd gratis the days of viewing at the place of sale. Conditions of sale as usual.
