Attributed to Thomas Lee by Evans. According to Richard Crawford, however, the compiler is unkown. Lee was responsible for another compilation entitled Sacred harmony [1800?] recorded as Evans 38446.
Dated [1790?] by Evans, [1789] by Shipton & Mooney. The American Antiquarian Society copy has an owner's inscription dated 1789. Charles Cambridge, together with James White, printed "near Charles River Bridge" ca. 1788-1792.
