It combines case studies, scenario analysis, and stakeholder consultations that focus on Chinese forest, grassland and wetland ecosystems and assesses the economic and social benefits of sustainable ecosystems management. It also identifies better practices in ecosystem management from Chinese and international experience and recommends a more intensive integration of ecosystem services into decision-making processes. In November 2010, the Task Force presented five strategic policy proposals for the implementation of sustainable management for Chinese ecosystems. These proposals were extremely well-received by senior decision makers and have since been adopted by national government agencies. The book represents a valuable reference work for researchers and professionals working in related areas. 000695374 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 000695374 650_0 $$aEcosystem management$$zChina. 000695374 7001_ $$aChen, Yiyu,$$d1944-,$$eeditor of compilation. 000695374 7001_ $$aJessel, Beate,$$eeditor of compilation. 000695374 7001_ $$aFu, Bojie,$$eeditor of compilation. 000695374 7001_ $$aYu, Xiubo,$$eeditor of compilation. 000695374 7001_ $$aPittock, Jamie,$$eeditor of compilation. 000695374 77608 $$iPrint version:$$tEcosystem services and management strategy in China.$$dBerlin : Springer, [2013?]$$z9783642387326$$w(OCoLC)843181028 000695374 830_0 $$aSpringer earth system sciences. 000695374 85280 $$bebk$$hSpringerLink 000695374 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-38733-3$$zOnline Access 000695374 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:695374$$pGLOBAL_SET 000695374 980__ $$aEBOOK 000695374 980__ $$aBIB 000695374 982__ $$aEbook 000695374 983__ $$aOnline 000695374 994__ $$a92$$bISE
