In total, 940 cases of CRS were diagnosed in this population and these patients were subjected to detailed analysis. The opening chapters address the definition and classification of CRS, epidemiology and pathogenesis, covering molecular and cellular mechanisms, radioadaptation, and the role of tissue reactions. The pathoanatomy of CRS during the development and recovery stages is discussed for all organ systems. Clinical manifestations of CRS at the different stages are then described in detail and the dynamics of hematopoietic changes are thoroughly examined. In the following chapters, principles of diagnosis (including assessment of the exposure doses to critical organs) and differential diagnosis from a wide range of other conditions are discussed and current and potential treatment options, described. The medical and social rehabilitation of persons with CRS is also covered. This book, which casts new light on the condition, will be of value for all practitioners and researchers with an interest in CRS. 000697020 588__ $$aDescription based on online resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed February 17, 2014). 000697020 650_0 $$aRadiation injuries. 000697020 85280 $$bebk$$hSpringerLink 000697020 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-45117-1$$zOnline Access 000697020 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:697020$$pGLOBAL_SET 000697020 980__ $$aEBOOK 000697020 980__ $$aBIB 000697020 982__ $$aEbook 000697020 983__ $$aOnline 000697020 994__ $$a92$$bISE
