It explains how, due to the pressure of having to plan every single working hour of studying in advance, a Sudoku Effect is created by the necessity to combine courses, exams and modules in such a way that the points add up. An unintentional side effect of the introduction of the ECTS, the Sudoku Effect has led to more classroom style teaching, an inflation of exams and fewer choices available to students. It has resulted in such complex and contradictory guidelines for the planning of the curriculum that the values attributed to the higher education reform can often only be realised if the rules for Bachelors and Masters programmes are ignored, or at least stretched, in practice. The book describes how the reaction to this situation is the continuous further refinement of the complicated rules rather than their abolishment. 000697321 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 000697321 61020 $$aEuropean Credit Transfer System. 000697321 650_0 $$aEducation, Higher$$zEurope. 000697321 650_0 $$aHigher education and state. 000697321 7001_ $$aBrömme, Tino,$$etranslator. 000697321 7001_ $$aBailey, Harriet,$$etranslator. 000697321 7001_ $$aHenderson, Annika,$$etranslator. 000697321 7001_ $$aWarren, Lesley,$$etranslator. 000697321 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aKühl, Stefan, author.$$tSudoku Effect$$z9783319040868$$w(OCoLC)871306701 000697321 830_0 $$aSpringerBriefs in education. 000697321 85280 $$bebk$$hSpringerLink 000697321 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-04087-5$$zOnline Access 000697321 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:697321$$pGLOBAL_SET 000697321 980__ $$aEBOOK 000697321 980__ $$aBIB 000697321 982__ $$aEbook 000697321 983__ $$aOnline 000697321 994__ $$a92$$bISE
