Phenomena described in this volume were investigated experimentally using an electrically heated disk placed in the test section of a wind tunnel. The authors describe findings in which transitions between different heat transfer regimes can occur in dependency on the involved Reynolds numbers and the angle of incidence, and that these transitions could be related to phenomenological Landau and Landau-de Gennes models. The concise volume closes a substantial gap in the scientific literature with respect to flow and heat transfer in rotating disk systems and provides a comprehensive presentation of new and recent results not previously published in book form. 000751651 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (viewed July 21, 2015). 000751651 650_0 $$aDisks, Rotating. 000751651 650_0 $$aHeat exchangers$$xFluid dynamics. 000751651 650_0 $$aHeat$$xTransmission. 000751651 650_0 $$aMicromechanics. 000751651 7001_ $$aHelcig, Christian,$$eauthor. 000751651 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783319201665 000751651 830_0 $$aSpringerBriefs in applied sciences and technology.$$pThermal engineering and applied science. 000751651 852__ $$bebk 000751651 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-319-20167-2$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000751651 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:751651$$pGLOBAL_SET 000751651 980__ $$aEBOOK 000751651 980__ $$aBIB 000751651 982__ $$aEbook 000751651 983__ $$aOnline 000751651 994__ $$a92$$bISE
