The importance of the application of theoretical frameworks to bioarchaeology in general has been recognized, but commingled and fragmentary assemblages require an increased theoretical focus. Too often these assemblages are still relegated to appendices; they are analytical puzzles that need the interpretive power offered by social theory. Theoretical Approaches to Analysis and Interpretation of Commingled Human Remains provides case studies that illustrate how an appropriate theoretical model can be used with commingled and fragmentary remains to add to overall site and population level interpretations of past and present peoples. Specifically, the contributions show a blending and melding of different social theories, highlighting the broad interpretive power of social theory. Contributors are drawn from both the Old and New World. Temporally, time periods from the Neolithic to historic periods are present, further widening the audience for the volume. 000752412 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (viewed November 25, 2015) 000752412 650_0 $$aForensic anthropology. 000752412 650_0 $$aForensic archaeology. 000752412 7001_ $$aOsterholtz, Anna J.,$$eeditor. 000752412 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z3319225537$$z9783319225531$$w(OCoLC)913557221 000752412 830_0 $$aBioarchaeology and social theory. 000752412 852__ $$bebk 000752412 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-319-22554-8$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000752412 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:752412$$pGLOBAL_SET 000752412 980__ $$aEBOOK 000752412 980__ $$aBIB 000752412 982__ $$aEbook 000752412 983__ $$aOnline 000752412 994__ $$a92$$bISE
