Recognizing the inextricable link between biological and cultural diversity, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD) joined forces, and in 2010 launched the Joint Programme on the Links between Biological and Cultural Diversity (JP-BiCuD). The first meeting for the implementation of the JP-BiCuD was held in Florence (Italy) in April 2014 and produced the UNESCO-sCBD Florence Declaration, which highlights the concept of biocultural diversity. The European rural territory is predominantly a biocultural, multi-functional landscape, providing a crucial and effective space for integration of biological and cultural diversity, suggesting the need to revise some of the current strategies for the assessment and management of biodiversity. 000754110 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed March 9, 2016). 000754110 650_0 $$aBiodiversity$$zEurope. 000754110 650_0 $$aCultural landscapes$$zEurope. 000754110 7001_ $$aAgnoletti, Mauro,$$eeditor. 000754110 7001_ $$aEmanueli, Francesca,$$eeditor. 000754110 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z3319263137$$z9783319263137$$w(OCoLC)922727363 000754110 830_0 $$aEnvironmental history (Springer (Firm)) ;$$v5. 000754110 852__ $$bebk 000754110 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-319-26315-1$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000754110 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:754110$$pGLOBAL_SET 000754110 980__ $$aEBOOK 000754110 980__ $$aBIB 000754110 982__ $$aEbook 000754110 983__ $$aOnline 000754110 994__ $$a92$$bISE
