The DROP governance team developed a Governance Assessment Tool (GAT), which allows the governance setting of a given region for planning and realizing drought adaptation measures to be assessed. Based on this assessment, recommendations can be developed for regional water authorities concerning how to operate most effectively towards increased drought resilience in this context. The GAT has been applied to six regions in Northwest Europe: Twente and Salland in the Netherlands, Eifel-Ruhr in Germany, Brittany in France, Somerset in the United Kingdom, and Flanders in Belgium. These regions are subject to drought aspects related to nature, agriculture and freshwater. This book will aid regional water authorities and other relevant stakeholders interested in governance assessment, whether that context is about water, more specifically about drought or flooding events, or other environmental issues. Further, the GAT can and has also been applied more broadly to a range of governance contexts for water management and beyond. 000755437 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed May 23, 2016). 000755437 650_0 $$aDrought management$$zEurope. 000755437 650_0 $$aDroughts$$zEurope. 000755437 7001_ $$aBressers, Hans,$$eeditor. 000755437 7001_ $$aBressers, N.,$$eeditor. 000755437 7001_ $$aLarrue, Corinne,$$eeditor. 000755437 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783319296692 000755437 85280 $$bebk$$hSpringerLink 000755437 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-319-29671-5$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000755437 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:755437$$pGLOBAL_SET 000755437 980__ $$aEBOOK 000755437 980__ $$aBIB 000755437 982__ $$aEbook 000755437 983__ $$aOnline 000755437 994__ $$a92$$bISE
