Through ten case studies with vast geographical and religious variation, the contributors address some of the shortcomings in analyses of the relationship between religion and (in)tolerance and offers a theoretically and empirically more nuanced understanding of the micro-politics of (in)tolerance and the roles of lived religion in it. The book argues that (in)tolerance and its connection to religion cannot be fully understood unless analyzed from below, which means that the focus needs to be not only on public institutions or religio-political spaces but also on (in)tolerance of ordinary people and their performativity, practices, and interests in non-institutionalized spaces. This showcases the ambiguous interconnectedness of lived religion and (in)tolerance. Lived Religion and the Politics of (In)Tolerance will be of interest to students and scholars interested in lived religion, the relationship between politics and religion, and those working in cross-cultural dialogue and through an anti-racism, and anti-violence lens. 000780088 588__ $$aOnline resource, title from PDF title page (viewed March 14, 2017). 000780088 650_0 $$aReligious tolerance. 000780088 650_0 $$aFreedom of religion. 000780088 650_0 $$aReligion and politics. 000780088 7001_ $$aGanzevoort, Reinder Ruard,$$d1965-$$eeditor. 000780088 7001_ $$aSremac, Srđan,$$d1976-$$eeditor. 000780088 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783319434056 000780088 830_0 $$aPalgrave studies in lived religion and societal challe.nges 000780088 852__ $$bebk 000780088 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-319-43406-3$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000780088 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:780088$$pGLOBAL_SET 000780088 980__ $$aEBOOK 000780088 980__ $$aBIB 000780088 982__ $$aEbook 000780088 983__ $$aOnline 000780088 994__ $$a92$$bISE
