Gustav Ichheiser, along with many other Austrian Jews of his time, was forced into exile after the rise of National Socialism in Europe. Ichheiser's work is considered an important front runner to the attribution theories. He was one of the first to study the phenomena of social misunderstandings in detail and in relation to concrete problem areas, such as success. The aim of this book is to discuss, on an international level, the importance of Ichheiser's theoretical approaches in his time and their relevance in today's context of social and cultural psychology. In addition, the tragic course of Ichheiser's biography, an example for many displaced scientists, highlights the importance of bringing a scientist's work back into the focus of today's current social scientific setting. Memories of Gustav Ichheiser will be of interest to researchers as well as undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of psychology, social psychology, sociology, and psychiatry. 000838457 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (viewed April 10, 2018). 000838457 60010 $$aIchheiser, Gustav. 000838457 650_0 $$aSocial scientists$$zAustria$$zVienna$$y20th century$$vBiography. 000838457 7001_ $$aJoerchel, Amrei C.,$$eeditor. 000838457 7001_ $$aBenetka, Gerhard,$$eeditor. 000838457 77608 $$iPrint version:$$tMemories of Gustav Ichheiser.$$dCham, Switzerland : Springer, 2018$$z3319725076$$z9783319725079$$w(OCoLC)1012306101 000838457 830_0 $$aTheory and history in the human and social sciences. 000838457 852__ $$bebk 000838457 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-319-72508-6$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000838457 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:838457$$pGLOBAL_SET 000838457 980__ $$aEBOOK 000838457 980__ $$aBIB 000838457 982__ $$aEbook 000838457 983__ $$aOnline 000838457 994__ $$a92$$bISE
