It is not the objective to focus solely on the developments in vegetation over time, but to create an image of the landscape that must have been visible to prehistoric people. Landscape and vegetation form a major starting point for the opportunities available in a certain area for a broad scale of human activities including grazing of livestock, cultivating crops and collecting wild plants. The majority of the analyses are based on seeds and fruits (botanical macroremains) from two Dutch prehistoric regions. These are the small river system in the present Flevopolder, home to settlements of the so-called Swifterbant Culture in the Neolithic period (4300 - 4000 BC), and the Frisian-Groningen terp region in the period prior to the endikements (700 BC - c. 1200 AD)." 000850289 546__ $$aIn English with summary in Dutch. 000850289 588__ $$aDescription based on print version record. 000850289 650_0 $$aPlant remains (Archaeology)$$zNetherlands. 000850289 650_0 $$aAgriculture, Prehistoric$$zNetherlands. 000850289 650_0 $$aPaleobotany$$zNetherlands. 000850289 650_0 $$aNeolithic period$$zNetherlands. 000850289 77608 $$iPrint version:$$aSchepers, Mans.$$tReconstructing vegetation diversity in coastal landscapes.$$dGroningen [Netherlands] : Barkhuis, c2014 $$z9789491431722 $$w(OCoLC) 905519739 000850289 830_0 $$aAdvances in archaeobotany ;$$vVolume 1. 000850289 852__ $$bebk 000850289 85640 $$3ProQuest Ebook Central Academic Complete$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/usiricelib-ebooks/detail.action?docID=5331720$$zOnline Access 000850289 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:850289$$pGLOBAL_SET 000850289 980__ $$aEBOOK 000850289 980__ $$aBIB 000850289 982__ $$aEbook 000850289 983__ $$aOnline
