Concerned with various modes of poetry and drama, it also examines the cross-pollination that can occur between these modes, focusing on a range of core texts including Mallarmé's Igitur and Un Coup de dés; Apollinaire's 'Zone' and various of his calligrammes; Maeterlinck's early one-act plays: L'Intruse, Les Aveugles, and Intérieur; and Jarry's Ubu roi and César-Antechrist. The poetic and dramatic practices of these four authors are assessed against the broader cultural and philosophical contexts of the fin de siècle. 000865858 588__ $$aDescription based on online resource; title from home page (viewed on March 14, 2019). 000865858 60010 $$aMallarmé, Stéphane,$$d1842-1898$$xCriticism and interpretation. 000865858 60010 $$aApollinaire, Guillaume,$$d1880-1918$$xCriticism and interpretation. 000865858 60010 $$aMaeterlinck, Maurice,$$d1862-1949$$xCriticism and interpretation. 000865858 60010 $$aJarry, Alfred,$$d1873-1907$$xCriticism and interpretation. 000865858 650_0 $$aSpace in literature. 000865858 650_0 $$aPoetry$$y19th century$$xHistory and criticism. 000865858 650_0 $$aPoetry$$y20th century$$xHistory and criticism. 000865858 77608 $$iPrint version: $$z9780198821854 000865858 830_0 $$aOxford modern languages and literature monographs. 000865858 830_0 $$aOxford scholarship online. 000865858 85280 $$bebk$$hOxford Scholarship Online 000865858 85640 $$3Oxford scholarship online$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://dx.doi.org/10.1093/oso/9780198821854.001.0001$$zOnline Access 000865858 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:865858$$pGLOBAL_SET 000865858 980__ $$aEBOOK 000865858 980__ $$aBIB 000865858 982__ $$aEbook 000865858 983__ $$aOnline
