APAC functioned as an advocacy group and helped to connect various Asian political, healthcare, and other organizations in the San Francisco area. In addition, APAC lent its expertise to other AIDS advocacy groups, helping them to organize and secure funding. The documents in this collection pertain to the origins, development, and decline of APAC. In addition, researchers will find materials related to issues, organizations, events, and public policy associated with the incidence of AIDS among Asian/Pacific Islanders, including four significant papers written by APAC's Public Policy Director Rafael Chang.
