Rodney E. Hero and Robert R. Preuhs analyze whether conflict between these two groups is also found in national politics. Based on extensive evidence on the activities of minority advocacy group in national politics and the behavior of minority members of Congress, the authors find the relationship between the groups is characterized mainly by non-conflict and a considerable degree of independence. The question of why there appears to be little minority intergroup conflict at the national level of government is also addressed. This is the first systematic study of Black-Latino intergroup relations at the national level of United States politics"--$$cProvided by publisher. 000887977 650_0 $$aAfrican Americans$$xRelations with Hispanic Americans. 000887977 650_0 $$aAfrican Americans$$xPolitics and government. 000887977 650_0 $$aHispanic Americans$$xPolitics and government. 000887977 651_0 $$aUnited States$$xEthnic relations$$xPolitical aspects. 000887977 7001_ $$aPreuhs, Robert R.,$$d1970- 000887977 852__ $$bebk 000887977 85640 $$3ProQuest Ebook Central Academic Complete $$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/usiricelib-ebooks/detail.action?docID=1099932$$zOnline Access 000887977 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:887977$$pGLOBAL_SET 000887977 980__ $$aEBOOK 000887977 980__ $$aBIB 000887977 982__ $$aEbook 000887977 983__ $$aOnline
