For several decades, saints' lives, other spiritual biographies, miracle narratives, canonisation processes, iconography, and dramas, have been widely utilised in studies on medieval religious practices and social history. This fruitful material has however been overlooked in studies of the early modern period, despite the fact that it witnessed an unprecedented growth in the volume of hagiographic material. The contributors to this volume address this, and illuminate how early modern hagiographic material can be used for the study of topics such as religious life, the social history of medicine, survival strategies, domestic violence, and the religious experience of slaves. 000916114 588__ $$aOnline resource; title from PDF title page (SpringerLink, viewed October 31, 2019). 000916114 650_0 $$aChristian life$$xHistory. 000916114 650_0 $$aChristian hagiography. 000916114 651_0 $$aEurope$$xReligious life and customs. 000916114 7001_ $$aKuuliala, Jenni,$$eeditor. 000916114 7001_ $$aPeake, Rose-Marie,$$eeditor. 000916114 7001_ $$aRäisänen, Päivi,$$eeditor. 000916114 830_0 $$aPalgrave studies in the history of experience. 000916114 852__ $$bebk 000916114 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-15553-7$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000916114 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:916114$$pGLOBAL_SET 000916114 980__ $$aEBOOK 000916114 980__ $$aBIB 000916114 982__ $$aEbook 000916114 983__ $$aOnline 000916114 994__ $$a92$$bISE
