Backhaus applies the Model of Education Reconstruction (MER) to the context of a social accountability intervention in Cambodia. This book is not an evaluation but adopts a qualitative perspective on the learning approach applied by the researched intervention. The research found that the learning intervention does not systematically include learners pre-existing social knowledge. It would potentially benefit from systematically harvesting and reinforcing pre-held convictions to sustainably motivate participation. It does not address potentially sensitive topics while interviewees show a sophisticated and holistic understanding of these. Finally, there are inconsistencies between the programs aims and objectives. In sum, the piloted approach offers pathways on how to beneficially include qualitative perspectives on similar development interventions. 000937670 650_0 $$aPolitical science$$xStudy and teaching$$zCambodia. 000937670 650_0 $$aPolitical culture$$zCambodia. 000937670 650_0 $$aEducation and state$$zCambodia. 000937670 77608 $$iPrint version: $$z3658308788$$z9783658308780$$w(OCoLC)1157569606 000937670 830_0 $$aBürgerbewusstsein, Schriften zur politischen Kultur und politischen Bildung. 000937670 852__ $$bebk 000937670 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-658-30879-7$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000937670 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:937670$$pGLOBAL_SET 000937670 980__ $$aEBOOK 000937670 980__ $$aBIB 000937670 982__ $$aEbook 000937670 983__ $$aOnline 000937670 994__ $$a92$$bISE
