Mikhail Karpov, M.A. in Political Science (Central European University, Budapest (1994)), Ph.D. in World History (Institute of Asian and African Studies, Moscow State University (1995)), is an Associate Professor at the School of Asian Studies, College of World Economy and International Affairs at the Russian Higher School of Economics. Vasily Kashin is a senior research fellow at the Russian Higher School of Economics and an adjunct research lead at the Center for Comprehensive Chinese Studies and Regional Projects (MGIMO University). He is also a research lead at the Far Eastern Studies Institute North-East Asia Center, where he works as a contract researcher.
