The starting point for the examination is that temporalities lie at the core of understanding this negotiation and that the connection between temporalities and difficult heritage remains poorly understood and theorized in previous research. In order to fully explore the temporalities of difficult heritage, the book investigates places in which the incidents of violence occurred in different time periods. It examines one example of modern violence (Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina), one example of where the associated incident occurred during medieval times (the Gazimestan monument in Kosovo), and one example of prehistoric violence (Sandby borg in Sweden). The book presents new theoretical perspectives and provides suggestions for developing sites of difficult heritage, and will thus be relevant for academic researchers, students, and heritage professionals. 000959062 588__ $$aDescription based on online resource; title from digital title page (viewed on January 26, 2021). 000959062 650_0 $$aViolence$$xSocial aspects. 000959062 650_0 $$aCollective memory. 000959062 650_0 $$aCultural property. 000959062 77608 $$iPrint version:$$z9783030571245 000959062 830_0 $$aPalgrave studies in cultural heritage and conflict. 000959062 852__ $$bebk 000959062 85640 $$3SpringerLink$$uhttps://univsouthin.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://link.springer.com/10.1007/978-3-030-57125-2$$zOnline Access$$91397441.1 000959062 909CO $$ooai:library.usi.edu:959062$$pGLOBAL_SET 000959062 980__ $$aEBOOK 000959062 980__ $$aBIB 000959062 982__ $$aEbook 000959062 983__ $$aOnline 000959062 994__ $$a92$$bISE
