Description

Correspondence from Owen Hamilton to his sister June Meyer (June E. Hooe Hamilton Meyer, 1919-2010 (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81471045/june-e_hooe-meyer). He says he's back in the routine again and it's hard after living the good life. He didn't want to arrive too soon so he stopped in Montgomery and went to the Masonic temple there ""and got all the dope on the Dothan lodge and wired Norton (no further identification) right away."" He thanks her for the good time they showed him while he was home, and says it will give him something good to look back on when times are tough. It's hard to get used to Army cooking again, but it could be worse. Two of the guys in his barracks are Masons and want to go in with him when he gets his 3rd degree. That will make it much easier going into a strange place, and he thinks being a Mason will be beneficial to him in the future. He asks her if Morgan (her husband) has heard anything about him getting his last degree down there. He asks her to continue to write as his morale right now is down around his ankles.
